Last week I stopped by at Scott's Nursery in Lincoln, New Brunswick at one of the Maritime's largest growers of gardening and plant stock.  Rows and rows of poinsettia's which are all grown from cuttings. Each year Scott's include many new varieties.

When I inquired on how they heated the place I was introduced to  Ronnie Scott who like everybody else was eager to explain to me the state one of the art  heating system which included a large pellet  boiler.

George Scott told me that the staff are getting  ready to working on this years Christmas Decorations and I should drop in after Mid November.

Kenny Foster was happy to show my Aunt and I around showing the different varieties .

On Friday I arrived at 6:30 am Freeman was busy watering plants which he had been doing it for a while. While watering he stopped and pointed out a large yellow Rhododendron with morning lite highlighting it with a black ground. A few minutes later he pops back with camera and tripod in hand to shoot the plant. Watching him shoot and seeing what he see through his view finder is like watching and artist paint. Using film there is no digital preview. I agree with Freeman that early morning is the best time as the bog and the place is alive with wildlife sound. The place is hopping visitors come and going Gardeners and
photographers.

Royal Tour 2012

Prince Charles and his wife, Camilla, wrapped up their tour of New Brunswick today with a visit to CFB Gagetown and a heritage walking tour in Saint John.



The royal couple also made a stop at Hazen-White-St. Francis School, where the prince played an impromptu match of hockey with several young children.

It was the second day in the province for the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall, as part of Diamond Jubilee celebrations marking the 60th year of Queen Elizabeth's reign.

Their schedule was delayed in the afternoon as the couple greeted long lines of people hoping to chat with them.

The KV camera club field trip was to historic train station in the village of McAdam.
Built in 1900, the CPR railway station was a station/hotel to catering to wealthy passengers changing trains to continue to the resort town of St. Andrews where they would stay at the CPR's hotel The Algonquin. The station was built in the Chateau style and resembles a Scottish castle. It was built of local granite and located at the western end of the wye leading to St. Andrews from the Montreal-Saint John main line. The station was commissioned by legendary CPR President Sir William Van Horne who maintained an exclusive private estate in St. Andrews on Minister's Island. On numerous occasions during Van Horne's influential presidency at the CPR during the 1890s, his private car would pass by the McAdam station on the way from Montreal to his summer retreat at St. Andrews and vice versa, sometimes staying in the station hotel.
